Transportation and Distribution Services (T&DS) provides a wide variety of resources for the UCI community including campus maps, parking information, and sustainable commute solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and savings on travel costs. Our team also manages traffic signal systems, campus fleet, mail and long-term storage services, passport and document scanning, and so much more. In response to the recent changes made to slow the spread of COVID-19, UCI Transportation is practicing social distancing and has adjusted its operational practices to support the safety of our campus community. As the campus proceeds to limit access to essential individuals only, the following services remain available. Operations


Parking Services – COVID-19 Update
Until further notice, parking permits are not required on campus. During this time, please continue to park in marked stalls and follow designated signage. Per California law, ADA parking stalls require a visible disabled placard. UCI Transportation will continue to monitor parking facilities and provide safety patrols to ensure emergency vehicle access to fire lanes and service roads.

The UCI Transportation Office has halted in-person services until further notice. Parking permit refunds have been processed and employee payroll deductions are suspended.

Motorist Assistance – COVID-19 Update

Our Motorist Assistance Program continues to operate with modified service hours. Services such as an emergency ride home, battery jumpstart, vehicle lockout, emergency gas delivery, and mobile EV charging are available Monday through Friday from 7 am-6 pm, and Saturday through Sunday from 7 am-2 pm.

Sustainable Transportation


Sustainable Transportation – COVID-19 Update

UCI Transportation is working closely with our rideshare and transit partners so the campus community has reliable commuting options. Metrolink, Amtrak, and OCTA have taken on several proactive measures to help safeguard your health, including increasing the cleaning frequency of passenger cars and buses and applying enhanced anti-viral disinfectants on surfaces.

Distribution Services


Campus Mail – COVID-19 Update

Campus mail collection and delivery times are reduced until further notice. Departments may drop off outgoing United States Postal Service (USPS) mail at the North Campus Distribution Center from 7 am-9 am. Staff with a valid UCI ID may also retrieve their incoming mail from this location Monday through Friday, 9:30 am-10:30 am.

All essential campus package deliveries may be rerouted to our North Campus Distribution Center. Deliveries must be made within the timeframe of Monday through Friday from 7 am-3 pm, and you may pick up your shipments from Monday through Friday from 9:30 am-10:30 am.

Other News and Events


Document Management and Scanning Services – COVID-19 Update

Rapid scanning services for processing medical documents remain operational. As our team operates on a rotating schedule, we will only accept projects deemed necessary for the campus’ response to COVID-19.

The UCI Passport Office is closed until further notice. Due to the US Department of State’s health advisory, the National Passport Center will only serve those with a qualified emergency who require a passport for immediate travel within 72 hours.

University Drive Widening Project

The City of Irvine began construction work on University Dr, between MacArthur Blvd and Campus Dr, to reduce traffic congestion for vehicles, bicyclists, & pedestrians. Once completed in August 2020, this project will widen University Drive with an additional traffic lane in each direction & add better facilities for pedestrians & bicyclists. To provide minimal impact to the campus, work will take place Monday-Friday, from 9 pm-5 am, with some additional work occurring from 9 am-3 pm.
