Public transport can break or make a city. With ever-increasing traffic on the roads posing

Public transport can break or make a city. With ever-increasing traffic on the roads posing a threat to not just our day-to-day life but also the environment, in general, sound public transport can go a long way in determining one’s travel experience in a city. As such, Time Out — the publisher of global city guides — surveyed more than 20,000 city-dwellers around the world, in more than 50 cities.

“We asked simply: is it easy to get around your city by public transport?” it noted, adding that four out of five locals had good things to say about their city’s public transportation network. “Many iconic networks didn’t quite make the cut. There is no room for Istanbul’s continent-crossing ferries, the fairytale trams of Lisbon, Melbourne, and Manchester, or Bangkok’s elevated Skytrain.”
