Stave off boredom with these pretty pictures

Bored in the house? Learning to knit and staring wistfully out of the window can only fill so much time, so we’re bringing you a moment of zen each week in the form of some of our most favorite motorcars from around the Turo marketplace. We like cars, you like cars, so let’s look at some cars.

On this day in 1964, Henry Ford II pulled the cover off the Ford Mustang at the World’s Fair in New York. Six weeks later the Mustang was the best-selling compact in the US, and it went on to become probably the defining American automobile of the twentieth century. The original pony car spawned many imitators but nothing could ever quite match the ‘Stang’s combination of style, affordability, and energy.

This particular 1964½ convertible in Costa Mesa, California is a lovely little cruiser with the 289 Ford V8. It’s no wonder the Mustang was such a hit from the jump. Look at the little round mirrors, look at the color-matched steering wheel, look at those seats!
