European Motorcycles Market is growing. In the first half 2023 sales in the total 40 countries McD covers in the region have been 1.3 million (+8.9%) driven by skyrocketing performance in Turkey (+102.4%).
Please note data reported regards the motorcycles industry in large extended, including not only 2/3 wheelers as moped, scooter, motorcycles, but even other vehicles, like ATVs, usually included in this industry. Differently from ACEA and other local sources (like FEBIAC), we do not consider the powered-bicycles inside the industry, even because data available regards only registered bicycles and are limited to those countries (Belgium, Netherlands, France) where a plate is required.

Millions people are involved, escaping for bombs or welcoming refugees and all countries are investing hard to support Ukraine resistance and to face the energy and food crisis derived by the war.

In the first half 2023 sales in the total 40 countries McD covers in the region have been 1.3 million (+8.9%) driven by skyrocketing performance in Turkey (+102.4%) now the largest country in the region. Western Europe area (EU26 + UK + EFTA) sales have been 913.909 (+3.8%) confirming the moderately positive trend.
Looking at the competitive arena, the market leader is Honda with 207.151 sales (+28.6%) followed by Yamaha with 100.721 (+3.7%), Piaggio with 88.763 (+2.7%) and BMW with 72.836 (+11.0%).
The best performed this year is RKS with +116.3% sales. jumped in 6th place). Other winners are Kuba (+152%) and Arora (++118%).
At country level, Turkey is the largest market with sales up 362.704 sales (+102.4%) ahead of Italy (+17.1%), France (-3.0%) and Germany (+2.7%).
In fifth place Spain (+9.7%) followed by UK (-2.6%) Greece (+13.9%) and the Netherlands (-34.0%).
